The Corner of Lake and Church Streets looking south

"In The Heart of Elmira" an original watercolor painting by Elmira area artist Marty Poole, brings us to a warmly lit Sunday afternoon view of a late 19th Century church (Lake Street Presbyterian) building with an earlier Greek Revival county courthouse in the receding background. Also visible from this vantage point is the western edge of the Steele Memorial Library which is across Church Street from the church and in the right of the painting is a very small portion of the eastern facade of Elmira's City Hall.
