Mensch Mill was an experiment in diversity. It took place somewhere in eastern Pennsylvania at an Ammish site near Philadelphia. I was 16, and it was the first time I had ever met a black or oriental person my age. I went to school with white kids and the same was true at church. Dr. Eby, minister at Lake Street is in the photo in the back row - 6th from the left end. He had wanted to see this camp become an ongoing thing, however, I think this was the only time anyone from our church attended and I'm not sure if it continued without us.
