"The new name of the holding company reinforces the evolution of its corporate identity and continues the simplification process undertaken by the Group in recent years."
GCO will be renamed Grupo Occident as of 1 December. The adoption of the new name continues the simplification process initiated in the previous strategic plan and reflects the transformation of the Group's corporate identity over the past few years. Key milestones in this process include the integration of traditional insurance business companies under the Occident brand and the renaming of its foundation as Fundación Occident. In this context, changing the name of the holding company to Grupo Occident allows for progress towards a clearer and more consistent corporate identity.
'This change represents a new step in our simplification strategy and allows us to project a stronger and more recognisable corporate identity, aligned with the evolution of the Group. Occident has enjoyed an excellent reception and achieved high recognition in its three years of operation. This new phase will help us to unite forces and strengthen the value of the brand', says the Group’s Marketing and Communications Director, Berta Solé.
With this change, the Group moves towards a simpler, more consistent and easily recognisable brand architecture, aligned with the corporate simplification process carried out in recent years. The new name will help to strengthen the visibility of Grupo Occident and facilitate clearer communication with its various stakeholders.
The change of name will not affect the Group's business structure or operations, which will continue to develop its insurance business through Occident and the credit insurance business through Atradius and Crédito y Caución.
