Occident brings together nearly 9,000 mediators at its main annual meeting, Business Forums 2026

"The company shares its priorities, vision and challenges for the 2026 fiscal year, framed within its '25-'27 Strategic Plan"

Occident has held a new edition of the Business Forums, a key annual event for the relationship with its network of mediators, which this year boasted the participation of nearly 9,000 agents and brokers both in person and online, between 3rd and 4th February. The high attendance confirms, once again, the importance of these meetings as a space for dialogue and alignment between the company and its networks of mediators.

Over the course of two days, Occident conveyed to the mediators the main lines that will mark the current year, framed within the '25-'27 Strategic Plan.

The forum was opened by Occident's Managing Director, Hugo Serra, who first thanked everyone for the progress achieved in 2025, highlighting the decisive contribution of the mediation network to the development of the business. After reviewing how the insurance sector has evolved, he outlined the projects that will enable the ambitious objectives that the company has set for 2026 to be achieved. First, he reaffirmed the importance of continuing to promote the commercial model through, among other things, the expansion of the mediation network and its relevant support. He also emphasised the importance of organic growth through the development of a customer vision. In this regard, he stressed that technology will allow for an even greater understanding of customers, which will consequently provide them with a better and more personalised experience. He then described the efforts the company will make to continue evolving its technological capabilities and digitising processes in order to facilitate mediation work, gain agility and improve efficiency. Finally, he called attention to the new advertising campaign 'When you're well insured, you prefer to live life like this' and sponsorships as elements that help convey Occident's close relationship with its clients and the trust they place in the insurer.

At the meeting, Raúl Lucena, Occident's Commercial Director, presented the main priorities on the commercial side. These include the growth of the distribution network through the opening of new offices, in accordance with the territorial expansion plan and relying mainly on the recently renewed Entrepreneurs Programme. He also pinpointed the company's efforts in providing comprehensive support to all mediation networks and accentuated the key role that technology, and respective training, will play in effectively responding to the challenges of an increasingly competitive environment.

For his part, Daniel Ciprés, Life Director at Occident, highlighted the strength of the life insurance business as a lever for growth and customer loyalty, through savings and protection solutions geared towards long-term financial planning and coverage of the needs of customers at every stage of their life cycle.

Next, Albert Pujol, Director of General Insurance at Occident, focused on the competitiveness of the offering and the wide range of solutions adapted to the needs of customers and the new trends and forms of insurance. He also stressed the importance the company will continue to place on quality and agility in the delivery of its services, thanks to technological tools and a specialised network of collaborators that guarantees an excellent experience for insured parties.

The forum was rounded out with the Managing Director of Operations at Occident, Xavier Fontanet, explaining the great opportunity that the company having a deeper knowledge of its customers represents. He also explained how technology will allow for continued improvement in efficiency and service levels throughout the organisation, with a direct impact on commercial, business, and operational areas.

With the celebration of the 2026 Business Forums, Occident reaffirms its commitment to professional mediation and to a business model based on a close working relationship, collaboration, and the joint construction of long-term value.
