"The initiative brings together experts, mediators, customers and business representatives to foster a culture of prevention and protection in the business environment. The first session addressed the hidden legal responsibilities of boards of directors and their impact in an increasingly complex regulatory environment."
Occident held the first edition of ‘Espacio Empresas by Occident’ in Barcelona, a new meeting space aimed at customers, mediators and companies with the objective of raising awareness about the main risks organisations face and promoting a culture of prevention and business protection.
It was created with the aim of becoming a space for reflection and learning to help companies anticipate the challenges of their business. With its informative and participatory format, the initiative combines the vision of external experts, who contribute specialist knowledge on certain issues, with Occident's experience in preventing and minimising the impact of these risks when they materialise.
In its first edition, 'Espacio Empresas by Occident' was attended by around 50 people and focused on the importance of knowing the legal responsibilities that can affect administrators and board members. During the session, the implications of an increasingly complex regulatory environment were analysed, as well as the importance of identifying potential risk situations early on in order to reduce their economic, operational, or legal impact. This meeting featured the participation of lawyer Luis Gosálbez as a speaker.
In the words of Manuel Martínez, Occident's Director of Business Insurance, 'companies live with an ever-increasing diversity of risks, some of them barely visible or undervalued, but with the capacity to significantly affect their activity.' In this sense, he states that 'with Espacio Empresas by Occident we want to contribute to generating useful knowledge, bringing the vision of specialists closer and supporting organisations in making decisions that allow them to anticipate and be better prepared.'
With this initiative, Occident reinforces its commitment to the business community and to the dissemination of specialised knowledge on the topic of risk management. The company will continue this format with new sessions in different parts of the country and with different themes, always linked to the main business risks and with the aim of continuing to promote spaces for dialogue, training and prevention for organisations.
