Occident and the Association of Mediators of Asturias strengthen their institutional collaboration

"The insurer will support the professional development of registered mediators in the region throughout 2025"

Occident has renewed its partnership with the Association of Insurance Mediators of Asturias at an institutional meeting held at the association's headquarters with Occident's North Regional Director for Brokers, Íñigo Basauri García, and the chairman of the Association of Insurance Mediators of Asturias, Ignacio Friera Acebal.

The meeting served to reaffirm the willingness of both entities to continue working together to promote ongoing training initiatives and to share technical and regulatory content for mediators in the region.

"At Occident, we believe it is essential to support the Association of Mediators of Asturias in its work representing the sector. We are committed to a collaboration that strengthens professional development and offers mediators useful tools to address the current and future challenges of the insurance sector", said Íñigo Basauri.

For his part, Ignacio Friera noted: "We are renewing a partnership based on a commitment to the sector's professional development. Occident has proven to be a committed partner in providing quality training and information”.

Both entities agreed on the need to maintain seamless and ongoing communication, convinced that open dialogue is the best way to address the sector's challenges.

Occident supports mediation

For Occident, the network of agents and brokers, with more than 14,000 mediators, is paramount in its business strategy. In Asturias, the insurer has 329 mediators. This channel represents more than 90% of its turnover and serves as a direct link between the company and its customers.
