Occident rewards the transfer of pension plans and PPAs with a 3% bonus

"The campaign, valid until 31 December, offers up to 3% additional return over four years for transfers equal to or greater than €6,000"

Occident has launched a new campaign to promote long-term savings among its customers over the last quarter of 2026, with a total bonus of 3% for transfers from other entities. In effect until 31 December 2026, the campaign is aimed at customers under 65 who transfer a minimum of €6,000 to any of the included pension products.

The bonus is made up of an additional annual return of 0.75% for four years, up to a total of 3% of the total and a maximum of €1,000 per year per insured person, under the condition that the transferred capital remains in place during that period. The campaign includes various Occident pension solutions, including the insured party pension plan (PPA), individual pension plans (Occident Fixed-Income Mixed Pension, Occident Variable-Income Mixed Pension and Occident Equity Pension) and the Self-Employed Pension Plan.

In the Basque Country, the promotion includes Voluntary Mutual Benefit Organisations (EPSVs). In this case, transfers from other EPSVs for a minimum sum of €6,000 may be eligible for the promotion, provided that the capital is maintained for four years, with no partial withdrawals or outgoing transfers.

In the words of Cristina Navarro, Occident's Director of Savings Products and Collective Life, 'the end of the year is a particularly important time to review how we are planning our long-term savings. Our goal is to offer customers different alternatives so they can continue their retirement planning.'

The campaign is taking place against a backdrop where retirement savings planning continues to be a challenge in Spain. According to the 4th Pan-European Pension Survey by Insurance Europe, published by UNESPA, 49% of Spaniards are not currently saving for their retirement, compared to the European average of 40%. The study also reveals that only one in four Spaniards has an individual pension plan.

Incentives for year-end contributions

Additionally, Occident is running a campaign until the end of the year aimed at encouraging contributions to certain pension products, with bonuses of between 0.5% and 3% over four years, depending on the amount contributed.

In individual pension plans and PPAs, the promotion includes regular contributions from €600, reaching the maximum bonus of 3% for contributions of €1,500. For the Self-Employed Pension Plan and EPSVs, the campaign includes regular contributions of at least €1,200 or extraordinary contributions from €500, and the bonus can reach 3% for contributions of €5,000.

These contributions may also benefit from the tax advantages provided for in current regulations, as they can reduce the taxable base of Personal Income Tax within the limits applicable in each case. In EPSVs, treatment is subject to the corresponding regional regulations.
