Occident has updated its Salud Mixed Reimbursement policy as a response to something health insurance users are desiring with increasing frequency: more flexible healthcare, with the ability to choose how, where and which professional they want to treat them. The new proposal combines access to the company's extensive medical network, with no co-payments or usage limits, with the possibility of visiting specialists and centres outside this network through the reimbursement of medical expenses, both in Spain and abroad.

This change responds to a growing market trend in which customers value not only the quality of care received, but also the speed of access, freedom of choice and the possibility of managing their health in an increasingly convenient and individualised way.

More options to choose from, both within and outside the medical network

To address these needs, Occident has launched this new product that strengthens the coverage available through reimbursement. For hospital coverage, the insurance offers up to €150,000 per year per insured party, while the out-of-hospital coverage reaches €30,000 per year per insured party.

Insured parties can also access services outside the medical network such as physiotherapy and rehabilitation, psychology, diagnostic tests or chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, in addition to hospital benefits such as prostheses, certain laser surgeries or treatments related to congenital pathologies. What's more, the product also incorporates a new immunotherapy coverage.

As a result, customers are not limited to a single way of accessing healthcare: they can use Occident's medical network without limits and without co-payments for their usual care and, when they prefer, visit professionals or centres of their choice through the reimbursement option, within the limits established in the policy.

The updated Salud Mixed Reimbursement insurance policy also comprehensively incorporates the services of 'Your Digital Health', a tool that allows insured parties to access different health services without having to travel.

Available services include medical chat, 24/7 video consultations with general medicine professionals and scheduled video consultations with various medical specialities. In this way, customers can resolve queries and access medical guidance in an agile and convenient way whenever they need to, complementing face-to-face care.

Occident's digital health services also boast a high rating from users: 8.5 in the case of medical chat, 9.3 in immediate video consultations and 9.4 in scheduled video consultations.

With this update, Occident is moving towards a more flexible health insurance model focused on customer decisions, combining face-to-face assistance, reimbursement and digital care in a single offering.
