Occident renews its Senior Well-being policy with services that improve autonomy and enhance comprehensive support for the over 60s

"The company is incorporating new care coverage to support the vulnerable, dependent or those recovering from surgery, and to facilitate their autonomy at home. "

Occident has updated its Senior Well-being policy, insurance aimed at the elderly that offers quick access to private medical services at agreed prices and special coverage for their care.

These changes in the Senior Well-being policy include the incorporation of new care services designed to reinforce comprehensive care for the elderly, especially those in situations of vulnerability, dependency or convalescence. The company thus reaffirms its commitment to this segment with a more complete, practical proposal focused on personal autonomy.

The renovation introduces a comprehensive assistance service for those in situations of dependency, offering social, health, domestic, legal and emotional support to insured parties who have difficulties performing basic activities in their daily life. This service allows them to remain in their homes with added security and well-being, thanks to the advice of a specialised team that provides guidance on available public and private resources, such as day centres, home care or nursing homes. It also incorporates comprehensive legal advice to manage key personal and asset protection procedures, including processing the Dependency Law and even legal incapacitation. In addition, home help services are now included, adapted to the degree of dependency, covering personal care, daily hygiene, mobility, accompaniment to medical appointments and domestic support in tasks such as cleaning, clothing, meals or shopping so that, while they receive public aid, the insured parties receive the necessary private support. All of this is complemented by a 24-hour geolocation personal emergency response service, which allows for the immediate activation of health resources or family members in the event of an emergency.

What's more, Senior Well-being incorporates a new home support service for post-surgical or hospital admission periods. This service guarantees the insured party three annual services, 100% refundable and up to six hours each, designed to facilitate essential household tasks—such as cleaning, washing and ironing, shopping or preparing meals—during the rest period, promoting a more comfortable recovery in the usual environment.

Finally, the update to this policy includes the expansion of its medical specialities, which now covers any speciality and increases the number of possible reimbursable annual visits to four, thus improving accessibility to private healthcare across the board.

According to Occident's Director of Health Insurance Products, Oihane Susperregui, 'Our goal is to support the elderly and very elderly with useful, accessible services designed for the times when they need the most support.' In this regard, she states, 'With these improvements, we reinforce our value proposition by combining prevention, social and health care, home support and legal support, creating a product designed to offer well-being and peace of mind during this time.'

Reinforcement with digital health services

The product renewal is further strengthened by the incorporation of Occident's digital health services, which allow insured parties to access a 24/7 medical chat service, immediate and scheduled video consultations, as well as access through the App to reports, electronic prescriptions, and digital authorisations, facilitating agile care and management without travel, especially useful for those with reduced mobility or who require frequent health monitoring.

Senior Well-being has a large medical directory with more than 13,000 professionals and more than 3,900 dental clinics, guaranteeing fast and affordable access to healthcare through private services at agreed prices, with the first 4 sessions being reimbursable.
